Product description

Shin-Etsu G-40M Silicone Grease is a silicone oil-based lubricating grease developed for friction pairs involving plastic parts, where mineral-based greases can cause stress cracking or swelling. Its stable consistency from sub-zero temperatures up to 200 °C allows G-40M to maintain a reliable lubricating film for mechanisms located near motors, heating coils and heat-generating components.

Application Notes

Remove old grease and dirt from parts before applying. Apply just enough to form a thin film on the friction surfaces; excess grease attracts dust and can migrate onto electrical contacts. Do not mix with mineral-based or other synthetic greases. Silicone can affect the adhesion of paints and adhesives, so keep greasing areas separate from painting and bonding areas.

For heavily loaded metal-to-metal pairs, silicone grease is not the optimal choice; G-40M performs best when at least one surface is plastic.
