Shin-Etsu One-Component RTV Silicone Rubber is a silicone sealant that cures at room temperature by reacting with atmospheric moisture, forming an elastic rubber that bonds firmly to metal, glass, ceramics and many plastics. The neutral-cure type releases no acid, making it safe for copper, printed circuits and sensitive electronic components.

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oil and grease; use a primer on hard-to-bond plastics. Because it cures by moisture from the surface inward, do not apply in layers thicker than 6 mm or in fully enclosed gaps. Low humidity slows curing. Wait at least 24 hours before applying mechanical loads and 72 hours before water-tightness testing.
For equipment with relays or open contacts, choose a low-volatile RTV grade with reduced low-molecular-weight siloxane to avoid long-term contact failure.
